Kirk also sat up and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Caroline quickly hugged him, his warmth raising her body temperature. However, she still couldn’t stop her arms from trembling.

“Did you have a nightmare?” Kirk hugged Caroline tightly, distress filling his gaze.
Caroline shook her head. She didn’t dare tell Kirk what nightmare she’d had. If he learned about it,

“Darling.” Kirk slowly let go of Caroline. He looked into her eyes and asked again, “Are you sure it’s
not a nightmare?”
“No,” Caroline denied. “It’s probably just a bit of hysteria. I’m fine. You should go back to sleep.”

However, Caroline didn’t fall asleep after lying down on the bed. Whenever she closed her eyes,
she could see Jude in front of the bed, looking at her.

Sean. “Where’s Michael?”

was best if she could get over the trauma of Jude’s death alone.

“What’s wrong?” Sean asked, “Did something happen with Caroline?”

staying.
