Chapter 3: Bridal-Carry
Chapter 3: Bridal-Carry
"You will be compensated." Olivier had said this to Fleur before they got on the car.
She didn't know where they were going, but it didn't matter.
The car pulled up at the Civil Affairs Bureau. It was two-thirty in the morning, yet the Bureau was still
brightly lit. Fleur guessed Olivier was responsible for that.
He got out of the car without a word. His cold, indifferent demeanour never changed.
Fleur followed him into the Bureau. Olivier then sat down by the signature desk.
Fleur did not sit. A blank sheet of paper was pushed in front of her. "Write down your terms."
Fleur scrutinised the room before finally resting her gaze on Oliver's face. "You're compensating me by
marrying me?"
"I'm not marrying you. We're just getting a marriage certificate."
These were different. Marriage comes with love. Getting a marriage certificate is different.
"Sir." Fleur then sat down. Olivier caught a whiff of her perfume. His eyes flitted to her lips for a
moment.
"Your way of compensating me is truly a marvel. But you giving me a blank piece of paper for me to
write whatever terms I want in this 'marriage' after dragging me here in the middle of the night makes
me wonder if I'll be able to handle the consequences of this 'marriage'."
"You can handle it." Olivier stretched out his hand, in which some documents were immediately placed
on his palm by his driver. He singled out his cheque book. "If you don't wish to proceed, just tell me.
Don't waste my time."
"..."
Olivier's demeanour made it seem like he really had to be in licensed wedlock by tonight. Fleur
wondered what would happen if she did not proceed with it.
"If I don't agree, you'll find some other random woman to do this, won't you?"
"Yes. Other women would be easier to convince into doing this anyways."
His d*mned confidence irked Fleur.
"So you only chose me because I just so happened to be around?"
"What else are you thinking about then?" NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
Fleur gave a brilliant smile. "Well, it'd be a real pity if I didn't hook my claws into you then, seeing as
you clearly have what it takes to compensate me if you would just let me freely state my terms."
Olivier did not reply. His gaze was frosty cold.
"I agree to take this marriage certificate. But I don't want to write my terms right now, which may show
up on this paper every now and then in the future, is that acceptable?“
"Yes." Olivier's voice stayed flat.
......
It only took ten minutes to get the certificate. Fleur felt an indescribable emotion as she stared at the
red booklet in her hands.
It was as if the sun had risen through clouds before they even moved away.
Her plan had only just begun and Olivier was already one step into her web.
However, she was certain that an ominous path laid before her now that she had registered as married
to Olivier. What else could explain why the man was so eager to be married?
He was even fine with having anyone do this.
Fleur felt like she was just beginning to step into unknown territory, knowing threat loomed near yet she
could not see where it was coming from.
Mysterious, dangerous, and challenging, all in one.
......
...
Dozens of flowers were in full bloom outside the Civil Affairs Bureau. It brought a sense of spring cheer
to the autumnal weather. This was a place where people officiated their marriages, after all. It made
sense to have a romantic atmosphere.
The sound of Fleur's high heels clicking on the concrete ground was the loudest noise for miles. Her
heel suddenly slipped, her ankle twisting as she began to fall.
She instinctively reached out to Olivier to steady herself, and Olivier reacted without thinking, grabbing
her hand so she did not fall flat onto the ground.
It looked like they were holding hands at this point.
"Stand properly!" Olivier ordered and quickly withdrew his hand.
Fleur stood straight and smiled at him. "How strong you are."
She continued after a pause, "That lousy thrusting of yours sure made its mark. You really don't have
technique. It really was your first time, huh?"
"..."
Olivier's eyes grew frosty. "Are you saying I didn't satisfy you?"
"The word satisfying isn't really appropriate to be used in this context."
"If I recall, you were enjoying yourself so much you couldn't stop making noise. Don't pull that crap with
me if you were satisfied." Olivier grunted before heading straight for the car.
"..."
Fleur did not understand how it was possible for Olivier to talk about sex in such a snobbish manner.
Looking at his broad back and the air of arrogance he held, she smiled.
"My first condition."
Olivier stopped and said indifferently, "Say."
"Bridal-carry me into the car."
