Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Kylie’s analysis was indeed correct.

Be it someone who is trying to gain leverage against Johnny or someone who wants to

take advantage of the situation, no one would disclose any information to Betty. Doing so benefitted nobody at all.

However, Betty learned about the situation and swiftly obtained evidence against Johnny.

The event turned Johnny into a laughingstock overnight. Ansoft Enterprise lost its opportunity to be listed on the stock market due to the scandal.

Moreover, people criticized Bernhal Enterprise for assisting Johnny.

“Well, not all is lost,” Jerome said indifferently.

“They might try to stir up trouble if they knew they wouldn’t be able to secure the project.”

Kylie quickly caught on and asked, “Do you mean Mocato Investments?”

Jerome pursed his lips and remained silent.

A hint of dissatisfaction appeared on Kylie’s face. It seemed like Johnny was unwilling to share what he couldn’t get with others.

*Jerome, someone happened to spot the people working with Taylor during the day of the incident. Shortly after, Mikayla was harassed by Taylor at the bar. Have you asked Mikayla

“What are you trying to say?”

Jerome looked at Kylie.

Kylie said, “I think the situation was a bit strange. If Taylor knew about the situation early on, why didn’t he help resolve the conflict?”

Kylie continued, “Is it possible that Taylor was waiting for Mikayla? Perhaps they had a disagreement, and Taylor was angered by Mikayla?”

Then, Kylie quickly added, “The plan that Mike brought over earlier was by Mikayla, right?” NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

Jerome did not deny Kylie’s claim.

“I really admire Mikayla’s talent. That’s why I immediately expressed my support when I

saw it. However, after we decided to go with her plan, she wouldn’t work for Bernhal Enterprise nor follow up on the matter. Why would she put so much effort into devising the plan and then refuse to work at Bernhal Enterprise?” Kylie pointed out.

Jerome’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. This was a question he had asked Mikayla several times, and she refused to answer.

“Jerome, have you ever considered the possibility that Mikayla’s plan wasn’t created for Bernhal Enterprise in the first place?” Kylie asked.

Jerome’s brows furrowed even more.

He asked, “Are you telling me that Mikayla is working for Taylor?”

Kylie calmly replied, “I cannot draw any definitive conclusions yet, but I think this is the only explanation for everything to make sense.”

Jerome pursed his lips as he thought of Taylor’s words to Mikayla on the day of the car

accident.

He remembered the scene he saw on the bar’s second floor that day. There was no fear and panic present on Mikayla’s face.

Instead, she looked angry and disappointed.

“Jerome, I don’t mean to instigate things between you and Mikayla, but you should look at this,” Kylie said as she produced a photo of Mikayla visiting Taylor’s ward a while ago.

“I had a terrible headache that morning, and thus, I went to the hospital. I caught sight of Mikayla carrying flowers and heading to the inpatient department,” Kylie said.

Jerome’s expression became ice–cold when he saw the photo.

Mikayla arrived at the martial arts dojo.

She was stressed out about the situation and needed an outlet to vent her frustrations.
