Blind Date
Chapter 25: Blind Date
“what the hell is this mother fucker doing here?” she asked herself.
Alex?
This was a big lie. This was someone she had never dreamt if meeting in her current world ever again.
After paying the cab driver, she walked closer.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“I need to understand what the hell you are doing here.”
“Listen to me Kate. We need to speak.”
“We don’t fucking need to speak. Leave my house.”
“Please Kate gear me out. Let’s speak.”
“And I said, we can’t. You can’t speak to me dick. Ni get the fuck out if my house.” she said, raising her voice and walking out from him.
He then dragged her back and to the closest wall around there where he closed every possible gap for her to escape.
“I will scream. Don’t dare me, I will make sure I place you under the police custody.” Kate said.
Laughing, Alex looked at her like she was spitting nonsense.
“I am being polite bitch. Do t let me change my god framing attitude. You know, I have beaten you up before. I can beat you up again.” Alex said not seeming to give a fuck about what Kate thought.
“Yes you have beaten me up before, even when you knew that I loved you and you meant the world to me. You have beaten me, you have assaulted me. You have rained insults on me. But can I tell you why you thought you had the upper hand? You had the upper hand because even as an adult, I was still joking with my rights as a human. I was too nice, I had no, and I loved you unconditionally. But its different now. Things gave changed, because u have a brother in law to be who walked in the force. So you see, with just a snap of my fingers, you are doomed.” Kate said to him, confidence written all over her facial expression.
Alex felt weak after her speech. There was no need holding her anymore, so he left her.
“You will regret leaving me Kate. You should really have a rethink.”
“I think it’s you who is already regretting. I Kate have nothing to regret. Just a few days, I bet you, I will be in the strong arms of a better man.” Kate promised him and walked in, closing the door like no one showed up.
Alex could not believe the attitude he was receiving from Kate. This was the same girl he had a hundred percent control over. He would talk to her how ever he wanted. He had even laid his hands on her countless times and she would still be willing to let go of everything because if love.
How did they get there?
So many thoughts was going through his mind even though he knew the answer to it. He knew he fucked up big time. He had a full control of her. Even though she gave him privileges that hurt her, she had only one rule and that was faithfulness.
She told him that at the start of the relationship and he could still vividly remember it.
They were in his newly bought sport car at that time as they chatted together about what they loved and hated.
“What is that thing that could ever make you leave me?” he had asked her.
“Why are you asking?” she replied feeling shy.
“Because I know how much you love me and how much you are willing to take in and tolerate because of what we share. I also hear you say only one thing can separate us.” he said to her, admiring the white short dinner gown she was wearing that night.
“You are right though. Yes I love you and I am willing to take everything from you except one thing.”
“and what is that one thing?”
“Well, that one thing is cheating. Alex, in as much as I love you, I am willing to tolerate it as long as I will be your one and only. If you ever find yourself cheating, please make your you do the great job of covering all the evidence so that I would never notice. Please don’t ever cheat on me. Not even to my face or to my hearing.” she had responded to him then.
Alex didn’t know whether to laugh at his stupidity or cry.
He knew it was his fault.
She had let him treat her poorly, even though she does not deserve it.
He knew he felt too comfortable with treating her poorly and he regretted his act.
Even as he was already willing to make amends, she was not ready to give her face.
Ashamed of himself, he turned and walked out of the building. Even him wanted to stay far away from the apartment even though it was hard to. He knew no one wishes to have someone like him, at least no woman needs someone like him.
Kate was peeping through the cotton with a heavy heart. She has being trying hard not to fall for his trick. She felt like he came to set her up.
Her life would have been fucked up if she had chosen to use her feelings instead of her brains. Breathing in and out, she decided to remain strong, closing her window cotton and retiring to her bed as early as possible.
On the other side, right in Andre’s simple apartment, Andre sat in the study room as he smoked deeply while thinking about Anita. He didn’t know what to make of his connection with Anita, but he knew he wanted to spend on her and make her experience what living in money felt like.
Thinking back to the state he left her and her friend in the afternoon, he wondered what must have transpired. Did he do anything to her?
Was she feeling safe right now?
But then, remembering that Kate was with her at the time he left, he felt better.
Kate was a good friend.
