Chapter 112
Chapter 112
Jasmine trudged off wearily, her steps echoing in the dimly lit streets after disembarking the public ride.
She gulped nervously as she saw the almost pitch black streets. She was almost beginning to feel
regret for rejecting the ride Axel had sent her. But she was so hurt and blinded by anger at that time
she stalked off. It was all false bravado but She didn’t want Axel treating her that way and it being
obvious she relied on him.
As she pressed forward, the desolate streets seemed to tighten their grip on her, and a shiver ran down
her spine. Gripping her phone tightly, she activated its flashlight feature, casting feeble rays that barely
illuminated the path ahead. She missed the warm presence and company of Axel.
A sudden sound interrupted the quiet-footsteps, unmistakably approaching her location. Her heart
raced as the echoes of the steps reverberated through the stillness.
“Christine” a voice called out, the excitement evident in its tone. Startled, she took a cautious step
back, her hand instinctively reaching for the pepper spray nestled in her bag.
The stranger continued towards her, his voice carrying an oddly affectionate cadence. “Christine, my
girl,” he declared, the words sending a chill down her spine. Suspicion etched across her face, she
questioned him with a nervous swallow, “Who’s Christine? She wondered.
As the man drew nearer, an unpleasant smell accompanied his presence. She found it both sickening
and eerily familiar.
“Who are you?” she inquired cautiously, her heart pounding in her throat as she nervously swallowed.
The man drew closer, emanating a sickening smell that stung.
“It’s me, you know me,” he insisted, his eyes widened with familiarity.
“I don’t,” she stated firmly. A sudden realization widened her eyes-he was the man who had been
stalking her for months.
“It had been so hard to find you after all those years. But I did. I finally did,” he exclaimed in excitement.
“Sorry I took so long to find you,” the man
apologized.
Jasmine took another step back, uneasy as the man’s excitement became palpable. “I found you some
months ago, so I just watched. We would walk home together every day,” he added. “We had happy
walks, but suddenly, I couldn’t see you anymore,” he said with a touch of sadness. “Because of that
guy,” he gritted out, his anger directed towards Axel.
Axel! Jasmine tightened her grip on her phone. “I don’t know you, stay away from me!” she yelled,
attempting to sound brave and keep her voice steady. His steps faltered.
“What? You don’t know me? How could you forget? Is it because of that guy?” he asked, his confusion
and frustration evident.
“We used to have so much fun together.” He stated angrily.
The way he said the word fun made goosebumps break all over her skin.
The man was oddly familiar in a Terrifying way. Being this close to him filled her with terror.
Eager to escape, she scanned her surroundings and took another step
backward. “It’s because of him, right!” the man yelled angrily. “Who is he?” he demanded. “Stay back!”
she shouted, brandishing the pepper spray in front of him, further fueling his anger.
“I don’t know you!” she cried, releasing the spray into his face. He yelled in agony, prompting her to turn
and run the other way. “Help!” she screamed into the dark night, attempting to dial Axel with tears of
fright in her eyes.
“Stop there!” he yelled, grabbing her arm and knocking the phone from her grip. “Let go! Let me go!” This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
she pleaded anxiously. “My Christine, I’ve missed you so much,” he said passionately, pinning her
against the wall and pressing his l*ps against hers. For a moment, she went numb.
The familiar sickening feeling overwhelmed her. It wasn’t the first time this had happened, and fear and
helplessness crashed down on her. No, she wouldn’t let it happen again.
She struggled relentlessly, a burst of adrenaline coursing through her. She lashed out, clawing madly,
kicking at his feet, and thrashing loudly. The impact had him howling in pain. As she tried to run, he

hair, dragging her backward. She stumbled and fell to the ground, the air
knocked out of her.
“My Christine,” he chuckled loudly. “It took me this long to have you in my arms once more.” The
memories of the basement, being locked up, and abused flooded her mind. Her dress was raised
above her waist, and she sobbed as she struggled.
“Stop! Help!” she cried inwardly, feeling real terror and pain. Her life had been blank for years, waking
up at the hospital without memories. The sickening, familiar feeling of assault made her question if it
was the past she was desperately trying to forget.
Her mind went to Axel, his comforting smell, and calming presence. Tears streamed down her face.
The man buried his face into the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply. “You smell good, as always,” he
purred while groping her continuously.
“You’re coming back home with me,” he stated sinisterly, pushing a smelly fabric into her mouth. The
smell made her head feel woozy, more tears falling from her eyes. Gradually, her eyes closed, and she
stopped struggling.
“Jasmine!” she heard a voice call out. She recognized the voice-Axel! He was coming to get her.
In her struggle against the gag, Jasmine fought to call out, desperation evident in her mu ffled attempts.
“Let’s get out of here,” the man urged, his anxiety palpable as he helped her to her feet, attempting to
hastily lead her away. Despite her struggle, Jasmine persistently sought to catch Axel’s attention, her
muf fled cries echoing in the night.
“Jasmine?!” Axel’s hopeful and determined call rang through the dimly lit streets, guiding him toward
the source of the noise. Running towards her, his eyes widened at the sight that unfolded. She
managed to pull the gag out of her mouth just in time.
The man turned towards/Axel, anger etched across his face as he brandished a pocket knife. Eager to
strike, Axel, who had been on his way for weeks, lunged at him, skillfully kicking the knife out of his
hand. Axel’s speed and physical agility prevailed, swiftly bringing the man down to the ground.
With the assailant pinned beneath him, Axel turned his attention to Jasmine.
“Are you okay?!” he called, concern evident in his voice as he assessed her well- being. Terrified and
relieved, Jasmine nodded, stumbling and falling to the ground, where she released tears of fear and
relief.
“Let me go!” The man struggled.
Jasmine grabbed her phone immediately shakily dialing the emergency number.
Soon the once quiet streets now with the cacophony of police cars, their flashing lights casting an eerie
glow. As officers loaded the man into the car, he frantically called out, “Christine! Christine!” A
desperate plea echoed in the night, “She’s mine! Christine, tell them. Tell them right now!” His voice
carried a mix of hysteria and possessiveness.
Axel observed the chaotic scene, ensuring the man was securely confined, then turned his attention to
Jasmine. Covered with a blanket, she remained crouched on the floor, visibly shaken.
“Sir,” the driver who had initially offered to chaffeur Jasmine spoke up he had arrived with a car.
“Are you okay?” Axel asked Jasmine gently, concern etched on his face.
“Would you like to go to the hospital?” he inquired, his demeanor empathetic. She shook her head, her
gaze vacant, staring into the distance. Deathly pale, she seemed lost in her thoughts. Slowly, he took
her arm and guided her towards the waiting car.
“That man, it seemed like he knew me,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
“He called me Christine” her voice cracked slightly as she talked.
“I’ll look into it,” Axel assured her, absorbing her words.
“Could it be?” Axel pondered, contemplating the unsettling connection.
Jasmine’s mind was reeling with questions. The name “Christine” resonated with the mysterious
memories and nightmares haunting her for a long time
now.
“I need answers,” she declared with determination. “I want to go right now,” she stated, locking eyes
with Axel. “To the station?” he questioned, gauging her

raged, convinced that this man held the key to unraveling the enigma surrounding her past and blank
memories. She had the feeling that she was and had forgotten something very important. Something
that filled her with dread whenever she tried to remember.
Soon they got there.
“Can I talk to him? Privately,” Jasmine requested, determined to uncover more. As she entered the
room, the man called out, “Christine!” struggling with the cuffs under the table. “You really don’t
remember?!” he yelled, asserting their supposed connection. “You were mine, you always have been.
Do you have any idea how long it took to find you?!” Jasmine flinched, the weight of his words. sinking
in.”We thought you were dead!” he shouted, revealing a shocking revelation. Jasmine’s mind raced
back to the hospital, waking up with no memories. “Do you know me?” she whispered.
“Of course I do! Christine, Christine!” he kept calling, his face triggering deeply buried memories that
seemed painful. Her head throbbed, echoes of voices and images overwhelming her. She grabbed her
head, she couldn’t take it anymore. She stood abruptly then rushed out of the room.
Are you okay?” Axel asked her.
She nodded slowly then shook her head.
“No, I’m not.”
“Take me home.” She pleaded with tears filled eyes.
Axel stared back at the man. It was clear, he actually knew Jasmine from years back. He might have
clues to what had happened.
Somehow he was linked to those memories Jasmine would rather forget.
She was at most sixteen when everything had happened. He had an inkling this man was the person
she had been trying to run away from. She was just a child at that time.
Hsi fingers clenched in anger staring at the man. Suddenly he felt pure regret for involving the police,
he would have handled it himself.
The man handcuffed stared directly at Axel.

Finding out where this man came from would be discovering more about Jasmine’s past and most
probably what had happened to Nathan’s wife that night.
He would get him out of jail first. He would be paying the man a visit later on, he decided walking to his
