Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

98

Alpha Kilian, the alpha of the pack, had never observed Nelly’s face so closely before. Her fair and bare face was flawless, illuminated by the moonlight that seeped through the window. Her gaze held a distant, mysterious look, and her eyelashes were long and delicate, curling slightly at the ends.

Nelly’s perfectly-shaped pink lips were glistening, tempting him to lean in and taste their sweetness, igniting a desire within him that he struggled to contain.

Caught up in the intoxicating atmosphere, Alpha Kilian couldn’t help but lean forward, his wolfish instincts taking over.

But just as he was about to close the distance between them, Nelly unexpectedly stretched out her hand, placing it firmly between them. Her voice, laced with authority and power, cut through his thoughts.

“What are you trying to do, Alpha Kilian?” she questioned, her tone not leaving any room for ambiguity.

Her interruption snapped him back to reality, and Alpha Kilian wiped the dazed expression off his face, meeting her gaze with his own intense one. “What do you think I can do?” he responded, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and challenge.

Nelly’s eyes flashed with determination as she firmly stated, “I don’t know what you’re capable of, but I do know that if you dare to lay a finger on me, I’ll cripple you.”

Alpha Kilian was rendered speechless by her bold words, his confidence momentarily shattered.

She truly possessed a fiery spirit, not easily swayed by his charm.

Reluctantly, he backed away, unable to hide his frustration. “Nelly, your face may have become even more beautiful, but there is still nothing appealing about the way you speak or the fire in your temperament,” he retorted, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

An eyebrow arched in response to his remark, Nelly quipped, “It seems after all these years, Alpha Kilian, you are still searching for romance. Unfulfilled, are we?”Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

Before he could reply, she continued, her words fueling the fire, “What’s the matter? Has no one been able to satisfy you yet?”

Alpha Kilian fell silent, unable to come up with a response.

“If that’s the case, then maybe you simply don’t deserve such pleasure,” she concluded, her words biting like a bitter wind.

Alpha Kilian remained quiet, their words becoming daggers in the tense air.

Nelly’s each word was harsh and unforgiving, not giving an inch of concessions.

But then, without warning, Alpha Kilian leaned in again, his body pressing against hers, desire emanating from him like a magnet. “Have you forgotten how Donna and Ben came to be? I remember your sensuality that night,” he whispered, his voice filled with a mixture of longing and vexation.

Nelly, undeterred by his teasing, met his gaze with a confident smile. “Don’t you think I’m rather professional? I thought you were worthy of my affections in the past, but now I see that was a mistake. You are not deserving, after all.”

Her words cut deep, revealing the wounds still present in their tumultuous relationship.

Alpha Kilian, unable to bear the weight of her words, struggled to maintain his composure. “Perhaps that is my fault, then. How about I apologize to you, and you show me your tender side again? What do you say?” he asked, his eyebrows raised in a challenging manner.

“For me to make that mistake before was a blessing in disguise for you. Do you think I would make the same error twice?” Nelly retorted, her tone laced with venom.

Suddenly, Alpha Kilian grasped her chin, capturing her attention. “Nelly, I won’t deny that I treated you poorly in the past, but I’ve never intentionally harmed you,” he stated firmly, his gaze locked with hers.

She chuckled, unaffected by his touch. “Don’t you feel guilty saying those words?”

Firmly, he replied, “No, I don’t. Nelly, we were strangers at that time, forced together by circumstances beyond our control. We didn’t understand each other, and our lives diverged in different directions. The marriage was never voluntary, so how could we have expected happiness?”

Nelly, though not fond of revisiting the past, couldn’t help but speak up in the charged atmosphere. “I don’t know if we would have been happy, but I did expect reciprocation for the wholehearted treatment I gave you. I wanted a simple life, where I could accept my partner’s flaws and have a peaceful and honest separation if needed. But I cannot accept any form of harm,” she enunciated firmly, her eyes unwavering.

Alpha Kilian was taken aback by her words, her strength shining through even after enduring so much.

At that moment, he found himself at a loss for words. He remained silent for a long while before finally admitting, “You’re right. I shouldn’t blame you. I was hoping for a home and a family, while you yearned for excitement and love. I was the one asking for too much.”

His confession was rare, his vulnerability showing through.

Nelly, sensing the shift in his demeanor, realized they had spoken too much in this charged moment. “Alright, it’s getting late. I need to rest,” she declared, climbing into bed and preparing to sleep.

Alpha Kilian watched her for a moment, his lips trembling with words left unspoken. In the end, he resigned himself to silence, retreating to the couch nearby.

As he glanced at Nelly lying in bed, conflicting emotions churned within him. But finding no solace in his thoughts, he chose not to delve further.

The moonlight continued to filter through the window, casting a gentle glow upon the room. Nelly lay awake for a long time, unable to succumb to sleep. Memories from their shared past resurfaced in her mind, reminding her of a moment when a young boy risked everything to save her from a raging inferno. Regrettably, he had forgotten all about it now.

Meanwhile, Thalia, having left the hospital, sat in her car and picked up her phone, her fingers swiftly typing out a message to Tony on WhatsApp: “Alpha Kilian Morris, is he someone who would harm your mother?”

Tony, who was usually a light sleeper, frowned upon reading Thalia’s message. He quickly responded, “No, he’s not. Why do you ask?”

Thalia sighed in relief, admitting her mistake. “Oh, never mind. I misunderstood the situation earlier.”

Curiosity getting the better of him, Tony asked, “What happened? Did something go wrong?”

Thalia hesitated, unsure of how to explain herself. Finally, she typed, “I thought Alpha Kilian was a threat to your mother, so I attacked him.”

Tony’s concern deepened. “Are you injured?”

With a touch of contempt, Thalia fired back, “Shouldn’t you be asking if he’s injured? Don’t forget, I’ve had extensive training.”

Tony questioned again, worry heavy in his voice, “Is he injured, then?”

Thalia smirked triumphantly as she replied, “Well, he’s not.”

Tony fell silent, relieved that Alpha Kilian wasn’t hurt. But he couldn’t help but wonder about Thalia’s remark. Worthless life? Did that mean he, too, had no right to exist?

Thalia, misinterpreting his silence, added mockingly, “Alpha Kilian Morris truly is remarkable. His fighting skills are on par with mine. No matter how much money others offer, they can never seem to end his worthless life.”

Tony didn’t know what to say in response.

Could his life truly be considered worthless? If that were the case, then why should he even bother living?

Interrupting his thoughts, Thalia continued, her tone filled with a sense of pride. “Now that we’ve fought each other, this could become a legendary tale in the future.”

Concern overcame Tony’s frustration as he asked, “Did he recognize you?”

Thalia assured him, “No, he doesn’t know who I am.”

Feeling a weight lift off his chest, Tony replied, “In that case, I can rest easy.”

But Thalia wasn’t finished yet. “By the way, do your mother and Alpha Kilian have a history? Are they involved?”

Tony’s mind raced, unsure of how much to reveal. After all, the danger surrounding Alpha Kilian was palpable, and if anyone were to discover his true identity, his life would be in jeopardy as well.

“Yes, they do,” he finally replied, leaving it at that.

Thalia pressed for more information. “Are they in a relationship?”

Tony chose his words carefully, guarding their secret. “No, they’re not.”

Thalia’s questions continued, relentless. “Then why was he there, guarding your mother’s safety at night?”

Tony was stunned by the implication of her words. Alpha Kilian wasn’t as heartless as he had believed. Tentatively, he responded, “I’m not sure. I didn’t expect him to be there so late at night.”

His prejudice towards Alpha Kilian began to waver, the walls around his heart crumbling.
