“I just feel assured after hearing what you said,” growled Alpha Kilian, his voice laced with the power and authority of his werewolf nature. “I will protect her for the rest of my life and make sure nothing bad happens to her,” he declared, his words carrying the weight of his pack’s loyalty. Alpha King Larry’s lips curled into a satisfied smile at the response.
“That’s my grandson!” Alpha King Larry exclaimed, his voice echoing with pride and dominance. They had conversed for some time, and Alpha Kilian felt it was time to end the conversation and let Alpha King Larry rest.
“Grandpa, why don’t you go rest first? I still have some things to settle, so I’ll go back to my room first,” Alpha Kilian suggested, his voice assertive yet respectful. Alpha King Larry was curious but obliged, returning to his own room. As Alpha Kilian climbed the stairs to the room prepared for him and Nelly, thoughts raced through his mind. He wondered if things would have been different if he had followed through with Alpha King Larry’s plan. A smile twitched at the corners of his lips, an unusual sight for a powerful Alpha werewolf.
“No more ‘ifs’,” he murmured to himself, his voice low and determined. He regretted his absence from Nelly and their children’s lives, and for the first time, he found himself content with how things were between them. Love was the foundation of a long-term werewolf relationship, and he knew that now. Settling into the room, he approached the laptop, but his brows furrowed in confusion.
Something was amiss.
The laptop had been used before, but there was no trace of it in the search history. Alpha Kilian’s mind raced through the possibilities, but soon his suspicion fell on Tony, the mischievous kid who had stayed in the room before. Dismissing the thought, Alpha Kilian accessed his own account and began his search for answers.
Meanwhile, Alpha Wade drove with Nelly by his side. Alpha Wade spared her a glance, his eyes filled with concern.
“I bet the task is dangerous,” he commented, his voice tinged with the trace of a growl. Nelly looked at him and smiled, a glimmer of determination in her eyes.
“Not really. The police were there, and I just stayed behind them. Don’t worry. As I promised, I won’t put myself in danger,” she reassured him. Though Alpha Wade had expectations for her, at the end of the day, he simply wanted her safety and happiness. Nelly nodded, understanding his intentions.
“I know, Grandpa,” she replied, her voice steady and composed. Alpha Wade couldn’t help but sigh, the weight of the unfairness they had endured weighing on his mind.
“Life is cruel,” he mused, his voice laced with regret. The woman he loved, Erin, remained in a vegetative state, and now, Desmond, the cause of all their troubles, might end up in jail. Nelly listened quietly, her silence a testament to her strength.
“I can only say fate is cruel,” Alpha Wade concluded, and silence settled in the car. Eventually, they arrived at a building and entered, waiting for the elevator. As the doors opened, they were met with a woman clad in a tight black dress, surprise flickering across her face upon seeing Nelly. Awkwardly, she forced a smile.
“Hi. Good evening…” she greeted, her voice dripping with guilt. Nelly smiled back politely, nodding in acknowledgment. Thalia, the woman, couldn’t shake off the guilt she felt when their gaze met. She left hastily, catching sight of the three children as she turned away.
“Wait…” she murmured, her astonishment clear. Her eyes darted between the kids, confusion etched on her face. Finally, her gaze settled on Tony.
“What’s going on?” she inquired, seeking answers. Tony had planned to tell her everything during his birthday celebration, but events had played out differently. He smiled at her, deciding it was time to introduce his siblings.
“Let me introduce you to my siblings. This is my younger brother, Ben, and my younger sister, Donna,” Tony explained, his voice filled with pride. Thalia’s smile froze, her face rigid as she stared at the boy. Slowly, she turned to the others, her forced smile evident.
“Well, it’s getting late, isn’t it? Why don’t y’all go upstairs and rest first? I have something to talk to him about,” she said, her voice strained. Tony desperately looked up at Nelly, his eyes pleading silently. No, Mommy! Please. Don’t let her.
To Tony’s horror, Nelly winked at him, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
“Sure. We’ll go upstairs first, then,” Nelly responded, her voice filled with a mysterious confidence. The three children entered the elevator, leaving Tony behind with Thalia. The other two children exchanged hesitant glances before following their brother.
They couldn’t leave him alone in this situation. Alpha Wade contemplated for a moment before nodding, trusting Nelly’s judgment. Together, they made their way upstairs. Outside, Thalia stared at Tony with an intense glare, her voice low and dangerous.
“Now, what about you choose a way to die?” she sneered, her words dripping with malice. Tony, however, remained calm and collected.
“So, I still get to choose?” he asked, his voice steady. Thalia’s narrowed eyes pierced through him.
“Of course. You get to choose, but not the others,” she hissed, closing in on him threateningly. Tony didn’t falter, meeting her glare head-on.
“Then can I choose not to die?” he replied calmly. Thalia’s anger flared, her rage boiling over as she gripped his shoulders and shook him violently. Her voice rang out harshly, accusing him of lying.
“How dare you lie to me again? You said you’d never lie to me again!” Thalia seethed, her voice filled with a mix of fury and betrayal.
