Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

Nelly ‘s eyebrows furrowed as she stared at Alpha Zachary’s hand that was gripping her wrist. The air turned tense and charged with a dangerous energy as Zachary, oblivious to her discomfort, implored her, “Do you really feel nothing toward me, Nelly?”

She looked at him, the words echoing in her mind. Feelings?

He was handsome, caring, thoughtful, everything a perfect man should be. But she couldn’t see him that way. “Zachary…”

“Just say the word, and I’ll take you far away from here. I promise to treat Alpha Jackson well and care for your children as my own. Just one word, and I’ll give you a happy life,” Zachary spoke with conviction, his mesmerizing eyes challenging her to resist.

But Nelly was no ordinary woman, and her brows furrowed deeper as she stared back at him. “My wounds haven’t healed yet, Zachary.”

Recognition flickered in his eyes, and he immediately released his grip, his voice filled with apologies. “I’m sorry, I forgot…”

Testing her freed wrist, Nelly hesitated before meeting his gaze. “I am honored by your affection, Zachary, but I am not as easily swayed as you. I cannot do what you ask.”

Zachary’s brows furrowed in confusion. “I may have acted too hastily, but I am willing to give you time to consider-”

“No. My answer remains the same. I won’t leave with you, nor will I leave this place.”

“Why?” he asked, his voice filled with frustration.

“Because I see you only as a friend. I do not love you in that way. And there are still things I want to accomplish here.”

Zachary’s gaze bore into her, the silence stretching between them.

Nelly’s tone was unapologetic as she spoke, “You are a good man, Zachary, and I hope we can remain friends. I truly believe you will find a better woman one day.”

His smile was bitter, his disappointment palpable.

To him, her words felt like a mocking reminder.

“Are you rejecting me because of Alpha Kilian?” Zachary asked, for the second time that day.

Nelly shook her head with conviction. “No.”

“Then do you love him?”

Her eyes widened at his unexpected question. “I don’t know why you keep bringing up Alpha Kilian. These are two different matters.”

A dark gleam flashed in Zachary’s eyes, his voice laced with desperation. “I hope you are telling the truth, Nelly.”

“I have no reason to lie to you.”

A bitter smile graced his lips once more.

After a long pause, Zachary lifted his head and took a deep breath, trying to compose himself. “I understand. Are we still friends then?”

“We always will be, as long as you are willing,” she replied.

“And what if I never stop pursuing your love? Can we still be friends then?”

She remained silent, and he continued, “You can reject someone, but you do not have the right to erase someone’s love for you, do you?”

Nelly responded, “Pay attention to those around you. The woman from earlier clearly has feelings for you.”

Zachary’s brows furrowed at the mention of Winnifred. “We live in different worlds.”

Nelly would offer no further advice, knowing she was no expert in matters of love. If she couldn’t understand it herself, she had no right to dictate to others.

At that moment, Zachary’s phone rang.

He picked it up, his brows furrowing deeper as he saw the caller’s number. Despite the incessant ringing, he ignored it and turned on silent mode.

Nelly watched him. “If you have other matters to attend to, go ahead. I will make my way back home. Thank you for the ride.”

Zachary nodded in acknowledgment.

She opened the door and stepped out of the vehicle.

As she walked away, the light in Zachary’s eyes dimmed.

Finally, after Nelly disappeared from his sight, he answered the call.

“Hello.”

“Where are you?”

“Outside.”

“With that woman?”

His brows furrowed once more.

“I am already at Moonwalk pack. Come back now. I want to meet you.”

His frown deepened. “Why have you returned?”

Instead of a response, he heard the beep of an ended call.

With no other choice, he started the engine and drove to his next destination.

As Zachary stepped into the condominium, he saw a woman sitting on the couch in the living room.

She was a middle-aged woman, but her demeanor exuded elegance and wealth. Her cold, haughty expression revealed her true nature.

His eyes darkened at the sight of her.

He hesitated for a moment before approaching her. “Why are you back here, Mom? And why didn’t you inform me in advance?”

Erin raised her head and stared at him, her gaze icy. “If I don’t come back, who knows what you’ll be up to?”Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Zachary remained silent.

“Why can’t you obey your father’s orders? Don’t you realize this is our best chance to enter the Lucas family?”

“Mom, why do you insist on entering the Lucas family? Isn’t our life good enough as it is?”

“Good? How can you say it’s good? Do you want me to forever be humiliated by my status?” Erin narrowed her eyes, her tone laced with bitterness. “That woman pushed me aside for decades. Even after her death, I was denied entry into the Lucas family. Now, your father is finally open to the idea. If you take over the company and marry the Lenoir’s daughter, he will marry me officially. I will become part of the Lucas family. Why can’t you agree to that?”

Zachary’s eyes reddened, his voice filled with pain. “Because he doesn’t care about us-”

“That doesn’t matter!” She interjected, her voice cold and twisted. “Once we are part of the Lucas family, he will treat us well. You are his biological son. He will come to recognize that. You just have to marry the Lenoir’s daughter.”

“And if I refuse?”
