Alpha King Larry couldn’t hold it anymore and let out a deep, rumbling growl. His voice carried a tinge of amusement as he addressed Alpha Kilian, “You claimed to be unbothered, but it seems you’ve taken the time to thoroughly investigate the Lucas family. Are you now telling me that fear has seeped into your veins?”

Alpha Kilian responded with a crooked smile, his eyes glinting mischievously. “We cannot expect victory in this battle unless we have a clear understanding of ourselves and our enemies.”

Alpha King Larry snarled and rolled his eyes, trying to hide the fact that Alpha Kilian’s words had indeed struck a chord with him. However, a lingering sense of unease remained. “What if Zachary’s mother is truly as dangerous as you described? Do you believe she would harm Nelly?”

Alpha Kilian furrowed his brows momentarily before breaking into a reassuring smile. “Fear not. Nelly’s fiery temperament would undoubtedly prevent any harm from befalling her.”

“No, I cannot risk Nelly being taken advantage of. I must gather all the information I can on the Lucas family,” Alpha King Larry proclaimed, his concern evident. With that declaration, he abruptly rose from his seat, ready to take action.

“Grandpa, where are you going?” Alpha Kilian questioned, his voice laced with curiosity.

“I’m heading to Alpha Wade’s first. It won’t be long until my great-grandchildren finish school, and I wish to see them,” Alpha King Larry responded, his determination shining through.

Alpha Kilian watched his grandfather’s departing figure, a twinge of sadness tugging at his heart. He couldn’t help but wonder if anyone truly cared about his own well-being.

Just as he was lost in his thoughts, Alpha Kilian’s phone rang, interrupting his introspection. He answered the call, recognizing the voice on the other end as that of Fabian.

“Speak,” he commanded, his voice deep and authoritative.

“Alpha Morris, I was out taking care of some matters, and when I returned, I found out that Ms. Gareth had come to the company to hand in her resignation and took all her belongings with her,” Fabian informed him, his tone filled with urgency.

Alpha Kilian’s expression hardened, a deep crease forming between his brows. “I see,” he responded curtly, not pleased with the news.

Fabian continued hesitantly, “So… what should I do now?”

“Keep a close eye on her whereabouts and keep me updated,” Alpha Kilian instructed, his voice commanding.

“Yes, Alpha Morris!” Fabian quickly replied before ending the call.

Alpha Kilian sighed, the lines on his forehead deepening. He knew that Lara was not as innocent as she pretended to be and was constantly up to no good. However, her sudden departure from the company caught him off guard.

She’s gone too far this time, he thought to himself, a flicker of anger igniting within him.

Meanwhile, Thalia hurriedly dropped off Tony at school, feeling a sense of motherly pride as she watched him enter the building. It still astounded her that the world’s top hacker was still attending school like any regular child.

After leaving Tony at school, Thalia returned home, hoping to catch up on some much-needed sleep. With no tasks to occupy her for the next few days, she relished the opportunity to rest.

A few minutes later, Alpha Wade arrived, picking up the triplets and heading back to the car. Tony appeared unusually sleepy, his drowsy state catching Ben and Donna’s attention. However, they held their questions back, not wanting to speak in front of Alpha Wade.

Noticing Tony’s condition, Alpha Wade spoke up, curiosity evident in his voice. “Tony, why are you so sleepy today?”

Before Tony could respond, Donna stepped in, answering on his behalf. “Tony was keeping Nelly company at the hospital yesterday and didn’t get much sleep. It’s only natural for him to feel tired!”

Upon reaching home, Tony continued sleeping, which puzzled Alpha Wade. “Tony, why are you still asleep?” he questioned, a hint of concern in his voice.

Donna was quick to interject, taking charge of the response. “Tony spent a long time at the hospital, Alpha Wade. He needs his rest. Don’t worry, he’ll be fine.”

Alpha Wade accepted her words, acknowledging that Tony needed to recuperate after his time at the hospital. He exited the car, but his nerves were instantly unsettled upon seeing someone waiting for them. “Alpha King Larry, what are you doing here?” Alpha Wade’s voice held a cautious edge.

Alpha King Larry had been patiently awaiting their arrival and greeted them with a smile. “I’ve been waiting for you all here,” he replied, his tone filled with underlying excitement.

“Great-grandpa!” Tony, Ben, and Donna exclaimed in unison upon spotting him. Rushing towards him, they were filled with delight at the sight of their great-grandfather.

Alpha King Larry’s eyes sparkled with joy as he beheld his three great-grandchildren. “Hello there, my darlings! You’re back from school, I see,” he greeted them, his love evident in his voice.

Curiosity getting the best of her, Donna approached Alpha King Larry and purred, “Why are you here, Great-grandpa?”

“I miss you all, that’s why! And I’ve also brought some goodies for you!” Alpha King Larry announced, his enthusiasm contagious.

“Really?” Donna’s eyes widened with anticipation.

“Of course! I have a carload of surprises just for you three,” Alpha King Larry replied, gesturing for his men to bring the gifts inside.

Donna’s eyes widened even further as she saw the men unloading the car and carrying the presents upstairs. “Great-grandpa, isn’t this a bit too much?” she questioned in awe.

“No, my dear. I don’t know your preferences exactly, so I chose a variety of gifts for you and your brothers,” Alpha King Larry explained, his excitement infectious.

“You’re the best, Great-grandpa!” Donna exclaimed, her voice filled with gratitude.

While Alpha Wade observed the scene with suspicion, he couldn’t help but voice his unease. “Hmph. It seems you have ulterior motives, Alpha King Larry.”

Alpha King Larry’s ears perked up, catching Alpha Wade’s murmur. “What are you insinuating? I’m simply showering my darlings with love and affection,” he retorted, a hint of defensiveness in his voice.

Alpha Wade chose not to engage in further debate, turning his back and heading upstairs. Alpha King Larry, however, swiftly took Donna’s hand and followed, not willing to let the matter drop.

Observing the unfolding events, Ben and Tony exchanged confused glances, unsure of what to make of the situation. They opted to remain silent, wary of involving themselves.

Once inside the elevator, Alpha King Larry seized the opportunity to question Alpha Wade. “Tell me, Alpha Wade, why did you agree to discharge Nelly when she hasn’t fully recovered yet?”

Alpha Wade shot back, his voice tinged with annoyance. “And how is that any of your concern? Are you planning to meddle in the Jackson family’s affairs too?”

Alpha King Larry remained steadfast, his worry for Nelly evident in his gaze. “I am genuinely concerned about Nelly’s well-being. She may have minor wounds, but I fear there’s more to it than meets the eye. Who will be looking after her?”

Alpha Wade, sensing Alpha King Larry’s sincerity, couldn’t help but respond. “Zachary will be taking care of her. You’ve seen him at the hospital, remember? That handsome young man.” Alpha Wade’s tone dripped with self-satisfaction, relishing the opportunity to irk the Morris family.

Alpha King Larry understood Alpha Wade’s motives, but his concern for Nelly outweighed any personal grievances. “Alpha Wade, I know what you’re trying to achieve. But take my advice, don’t rush it. Do you truly understand who this Alpha Zachary is and what his family represents?”

Alpha Wade felt a pang of uncertainty as he recalled his conversation with Zachary. However, his pride prevented him from admitting any doubt. “Even if I don’t know every detail about Alpha Zachary and his family, Nelly’s safety is my priority. She will never be a part of the Morris family again, even if it means she remains single for eternity.”

Alpha King Larry fell silent, his frustration mounting. He detested how every conversation seemed to return to Nelly’s safety. When could they simply have a pleasant exchange?

“Alpha Wade, I’m being serious-”

“As am I. Your precious grandson will never have a chance with Nelly, regardless of the circumstances. She would rather be alone than be tied to the Morris family again,” Alpha Wade declared, his words final.

The elevator doors opened, and Alpha Wade was the first to step out, leaving Alpha King Larry to follow closely behind. The triplets watched the exchange, feeling a mixture of confusion and apprehension.
