Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

126

Alpha Kilian had been transferred to the ward after his rescue, while Nelly had her injuries tended to. Yet, the woman felt no fatigue and sat next to Alpha Kilian’s bed, her gaze fixed on him with an empty expression.

The events of the previous night played in her mind like a film, each scene replaying over and over. His every action, his madness, and the way he looked at her.

Everything he had done had been unexpected.

To claim there were no emotions involved would be a lie. Despite her previous disdain for him, none of that mattered in the face of death.

Alpha Kilian.

You’re such a bastard.

Why did you have to disrupt the balance?

Lost in her thoughts, a knock on the door interrupted her, and Tony entered.

“Hey, Nelly.”

Nelly smiled faintly upon seeing the boy. “You’re back.”

Tony approached her. “How are you feeling? Are you alright?”

“I’m fine. Just a few cuts on my skin, nothing serious.”

Tony’s eyes fell upon Alpha Kilian, who appeared pale in his bed, blood staining the bandages wrapped around him. “How… is he?”

Nelly turned to look at Alpha Kilian as well. “The doctor said his stomach wounds were deep, and he lost a lot of blood. He’s been stitched up, but it will take some time for him to wake up. The good news is that he’s no longer in immediate danger.”

Relieved, Tony nodded in response.

In truth, he felt touched by Alpha Kilian’s actions the previous night and no longer harbored as much hatred towards him. Now, he even worried for the man’s well-being.

Nelly placed a hand on his shoulder. “Don’t worry. He will be fine.”

Tony looked up at her, and they exchanged a knowing nod.

Then, Nelly turned to Thalia, who stood behind Tony. “Oh, thank you for your help last night.”Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

Caught off guard, Thalia froze momentarily before waving her hands dismissively. “No problem! I’m just glad I could assist. It’s not a big deal.”

She held great respect for Nelly, considering she had raised such a remarkable boy like Tony.

She’s so beautiful and capable! I envy her.

Nelly looked at her but said nothing, a flicker of doubt briefly crossing her eyes.

It was only for a moment, but Thalia noticed, and her smile faltered.

When she glanced at Nelly again, the woman had already averted her gaze.

Was I imagining things just now?

The way she looked at me… It was as if she knows me.

No, rather, it was as if she… understands me.

She stood frozen for a few seconds before turning back to Nelly, but the latter appeared as though nothing had happened.

Thalia blinked several times and eventually concluded, after a moment of reflection, that she was overthinking.

How could she possibly know me?

It must be my tired mind playing tricks on me!

Yes, that’s it.

Tony glanced at Nelly. “Nelly, Thalia is actually… my friend,” he confessed.

Nelly’s expression remained calm, as if she had known all along. “Yes, I know,” she replied with a nod.

“I didn’t mean to lie to you, Nelly…” Tony looked up at her.

Nelly turned to him, smiling. “You have the right to make friends. I won’t interfere as long as you protect yourself.”

She had no intention of prying further.

Tony sighed with relief, thinking he would have to explain himself.

“Okay, I understand,” he responded, nodding. “I’ll take care of myself, so you don’t have to worry.”

“I’ll also keep an eye on him,” Thalia chimed in. “I’ll make sure he doesn’t get hurt, not even a scratch.”

Nelly studied her for a long moment before finally nodding. “Alright. I trust you.”

“Tony, your mommy is so beautiful and intelligent!” Thalia couldn’t help but gush.

Tony glanced at her. “Why state the obvious?”

Thalia was about to scold him but held back, remembering Nelly’s presence. “You’re… adorable!” she exclaimed, forcing a smile.

Tony burst into laughter.

Maintaining her composure, Nelly beamed too.

Thalia let out a soft sigh.

For some reason, every time she looked at Nelly, she felt a sense of unease.

Meanwhile, Lara trembled on her bed in another ward.

The thought of Alpha Kilian’s injuries filled her with worry and despair, tears streaming down her face as she sat there, resembling a lifeless puppet.

Caroline entered the room and saw her daughter in distress.

“Lara! What’s wrong?” The older woman rushed to her daughter’s side, concern etched on her face.

At the sound of her mother’s voice, Lara turned her head and spoke with a trembling voice, “Mommy, I think… I think I’m in trouble.” Her eyes filled with despair as she looked up at Caroline.

“What? What happened?” Caroline asked, gently caressing Lara’s back, trying to piece together what could have occurred in just one night.

A wave of fear washed over Lara, and tears continued to flow as she slowly opened up after a moment of contemplation.

Caroline furrowed her brows upon hearing the events unfold. “Lara, how could you be so careless as to involve yourself in this?”

“B-But I never expected it to turn out like this,” Lara mumbled, sniffling between her words. “What should I do? Alpha Kilian was hurt! Do you think he’ll be alright? If anything happens to him… I don’t want to live anymore!”

Caroline’s anger mixed with hopelessness as she witnessed her precious daughter in such a state. “Alright, calm down,” she reassured after a long pause. “Everything should be fine. There would have been commotion outside if something terrible had happened.”

“But he sustained so many stab wounds!”

“Shh!” Caroline motioned for her to lower her voice.

Lara glanced outside and whispered, “I’m really scared, Mommy. What should I do?”

Caroline felt panic rising within her, but she knew she had to maintain her composure.

“I will investigate this,” she reassured before cautioning Lara, “Don’t tell anyone else about this, hear me? Your life will be over if you do.”

Lara nodded eagerly, her face drained of color. “I understand. I won’t say a word.”

Caroline sighed in frustration. “Get some rest. I will look into this.”

Lara nodded again, placing her hope in her mother.

As Caroline reached the door, a thought struck her, and she turned back. “Lara, you didn’t leave any evidence behind, did you?”

Shaking her head, Lara whispered, “That guy is mentally unstable. He’s completely unhinged.”

Caroline pondered for a moment before smirking. “That makes things much simpler, then.”
