Chapter 59
Chapter 59 Going Overboard
Leah raised her delicate eyebrows and took a step closer to Maria.
"Why are you speaking so loudly? Are you afraid that everyone won't know that Miss Foster is a shameless homewrecker who stole someone else's partner?" Maria furrowed her brows tightly. "You..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Leah interrupted her. "Do you want me to help you? Should I shout even louder and gather everyone here to witness it?"
"Miss Wilson, you and Quentin are already divorced. Why do you have to make things difficult for me again? Quentin and I truly love each other," Sharon's eyes welled up with tears, and she looked at Quentin with a look of grievance. "Quentin, although Miss Wilson's tone is a bit aggressive, it doesn't matter. For you, I don't mind enduring any hardship."
Quentin wore a frown and cast a slightly cold look at Leah.
"Leah, don't push your luck."
Leah rolled her eyes without hesitation.
"Did I strike a nerve? I was sitting here, minding my own business, but someone came looking for trouble first! Quentin, I'm warning you. If you don't want me to publicly expose your extramarital affairs with Miss Foster right here, then stay away from me. Otherwise, don't blame me for resorting to drastic measures!"
With that, she casually returned to the sofa, eating her dessert as if Quentin and the others were invisible to her.
Seeing Quentin's displeased expression, Sharon hesitated but still focused her gaze on Leah. She felt a growing unease and reached out to tug at Quentin's arm.
"Quentin, let's go. Let's not disturb Miss Wilson's meal."
Quentin gave Leah a look, pulled his arm away from Sharon's grasp, and swiftly left the spot.
As her arm was left hanging, Sharon felt a deep sense of resentment.
She shot Leah a fierce glare but quickly averted her gaze, hurrying to catch up with Quentin.
After catching up with Quentin,
Sharon saw him chatting with someone else and didn't want to
interrupt. Instead, she went to the restroom with a displeased expression.
"Leah is such a wicked woman. She definitely heard that Mr. Worthington is here and intentionally dressed like a seductress to tempt him!" said Maria.
Thinking of how Quentin had looked at Leah earlier, Sharon's expression darkened with menace, but her tone remained soft.
"Maria, don't forget that Quentin divorced Miss Wilson because of me. Why would he go back to her? And I believe he can resist such temptations."
"Well, that's true." Maria nodded in agreement and then remembered Leah's enchanting appearance. She couldn't help but offer Sharon a
reminder. "But Leah's Sne
allure is quite dangerous. You mustn't let your guard down. Be cautious of her."
Sharon smiled, but it didn't seem sincere at all.
"I understand, Maria. Thank you for your reminder."
"No problem. We're friends, after all."
When Sharon and Maria returned to the hall, the auction was about to begin.
"Quentin." Sharon spotted Quentin in the crowd, his tall figure making him stand out. She walked over with a smile. However, she suddenly noticed Leah sitting not far away from them. Her expression stiffened for a moment, and she forced herself to greet Leah politely.
"Miss Wilson, you're here too."
Leah noticed Sharon's reaction and responded with a casual smirk.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Of course, this is an excellent spot for the auction. Where else would I be?"
Sharon pressed her lips together and was about to say something, but Quentin's deep voice cut in.
"All right, let's keep quiet and wait for the auction to begin. No talking."
