Chapter 318 Outburst
Michael took aber's phone, flipped through it casually, then showed it back into his hands with a grim face-
"Are you going to handle this?" Asher asked
"I'm going back to Paramount Airlines." Michael didn't answer the question directly, but his actions spoke volumes.
"What about this meeting..."
"We'll continue it next time!"
Seriously, no company would stop a meeting halfway and plan to finish it later.
But Asher got it. To Michael, his wife was naturally more important than the company
Everyone in the office was still waiting until they say Asher come in without Michael.
"Alright, everyone, that's it for today. Meeting's canceled," he said.
With the boss gone, there was no point in continuing the meeting.
Everyone exchanged bewildered glances, wondering what urgent matter had caused Michael to pull the plug like that.
Lucy was seething on the inside, but she still stood up and said, "I apologize for the inconvenience, everyone. Mr. Shawn had an unexpected matter to attend to. We will resuse the meeting at a later date." Some disgruntled executives grumbled, "No matter how busy he is, he can't just ditch us like this, Didn't we all bust our butts to build this corpану?"
"I'm truly sorry!" Lucy sincerely apologized to everyone on Michael's behalf.
After the conference rooms cleared out, Owen finally spoke up. "Where the hell did Michael go? Doesn't he realize how messed up this is? Leaving Lucy to clean up his me. Has he even thought about how that makes her and the rest of us feel?"
They were all founding shareholders of Shawn Heavy Industries. They'd poured their blood, sweat, and tears into this company.
Michael couldn't just walk away from everything they'd built together.
It was like Shan Heavy Industries meant nothing to him
"Hey, whose side are you on? Michael had an emergency. Can't you understand that?" Asher glared at Owen, clearly annoyed.
Owen was obviously head over heels for Lucy, and now all he could do was throw a tantrum and blame Michael, showing no respect or understanding.
"If you're not happy about it, then leavel The company can manage without you. We can buy back your shares. We're supposed to be brothers here, so I don't get why you're yelling!" Asher had been putting up with Owen's attitude for for too long, and his words cut like a knife.
Owen's temper flared. He couldn't stand to see Lucy suffer, especially when it was clearly Michael's fault.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.
"Fine, I'm out of here!" he exploded. "Anyone who stays is a damn coward!"
Lucy nervously tried to mediate, grabbing Owen's arm. "Owen, we're all friends. There's no need for this, really."
Owen even shook off her hand in a fit of mags. "Why do you keep sticking with Shawn Heavy Industries? Is it because we founded it together back in college, or is it just because of Michael? Lucy, even if we leave Shawn Heavy Industries, we can start another company. Why put up with this?
Asher's earlier demand for him to leave was just out of anger. He never knew that Owen had been wanting to leave for a long time.
"Owen, what do you mean? So, you have never considered us friends? Do you think you're too good for Shawn Heavy Industries?" he snapped.
"Damn right I am!" Owen spat. I'm done with this place!"

He tore off his badge and then it on the ground, turning away without hesitation.
Lucy stood there, watching his back worriedly, but didn't chase after him.
Asher took a deep breath, looked at Lucy, and said, "Are you satisfied now!
Lucy was taken aback. "Asher, what are you talking about? Own just lost his temper for a moment. He'll calm down soon."
Asher steered, "I don't think he'll calm down that easily. He is in this mess because of your instigation, isn't it?"
Lucy frowned. "What do you mean? I never wanted things to burn out like this. You shouldn't blause me."
"I know exactly what you're up to. I must have been blind to be friends with you in the first place." With that, Asher turned away, not looking at Lurcy anymore. Lucy felt a pang of guilt, She land suspected for a while that Aber held a grudge against her. But she hadn't paid much attention to it.
Judging by what just happened, she could tell that Asher had probably figured out her intentions long ago.
But still, he was just a college classmate. What mattered most to her was keeping Michael by her side. Everyone else didn't matter.
