Accidentally Married

Branch Fifty Seven

In Jessica’s ears, his words sounded smug and like he was bragging. She was not ready to go back and forth with him.

“I have no idea and that is the reason I called you,” Jessica said gritting her teeth.

Her plan was to now live a quiet life at the mansion. She would avoid him at all costs. She was going to ignore his existence but he had somehow made her speak to him in less than twenty-four hours.

“It’s my apology” Xavier confessed.

He figured that there was no reason for him to make sarcastic comments that might offend her. He was in the wrong and he should make it right.

Xavier’s direct answer threw Jessica off. Just less than two months ago he had had difficulty with speaking talk less of apologizing now. Was he finally growing up? Was it her influence? Was it that he was just maturing on his own?

Jessica had expected a snarky and sarcastic comment so she was prepared for a war but since she did not get it she was now confused on how next to proceed with the conversation.

“Jessica, are you there?” Xavier asked when he was met with silence.

“Erm yes,” she said confused.

“Why is that your apology?” she screamed into the phone. There was no way she would let him get was with fulfilling his promise and then calling it an apology..

Apologies we’re said with remorse. He was not going to wiggle his way of this with flaunting his money in her face. She did not care about his money and she would never care.

“We discussed that you would get a realtor for me so I can open up my store” Jessica added.

“Yes and that’s why…..” Xavier started.

“You can’t fulfill the promise you made and then call it an apology” Jessica said cutting him off.

Xavier became speechless. This was not the reaction he was expecting. Jessica was not ready to let him walk over her.

“I would be speaking to the realtor because we already agreed that I would speak to him to help me find a place fit the restaurant and not because you meant it to be an apology” Jessica said in one breath.

“Jessica” Xavier said.

“Mr. Delgado I do hope you enjoy the rest of your day” Jessica said and the cut off the call without waiting for his response.

Jessica gave herself a mental pat before she responded to the realtors message. She was going to meet him and ensure she picked something out today. She needed expert eyes so she called Leslie to accompany her.

Xavier threw his phone onto the car seat beside him. His plan to apologize and make it alright with Jessica just seemed to go down the drain.

His phone began to ring again. He thought it was Jessica so he picked it and saw it was Brian calling him. He sighed and connected to the bluetooth speaker before answering the call.

“Mr. Delgado,” Brian said when Xavier picked up the call.

“Yes, how can I help you?” Xavier said his voice smug.

“Are you not happy to hear from me?” Brian teased.

“Why would I be happy to hear from you?” Xavier answered back. “What do you want?” he added.

“Jason Jameson is in town” Brian announced.

“He is in town? He did not inform us about this trip” Xavier said complaining.

“Apparently, he wanted to give you a surprise,” Brian said sighing out loud.

“Go pick him up at the airport then,” Xavier said.

“Well, he asked for you” Brian replied.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Why?”

“I can’t tell, but where are you now? I would meet you halfway and we can go get him together” Brian said.

“I just got on the mainland bridge” Xavier replied.

“Okay I would meet you at the coffee shop after the bridge,” Brian said.

“Bye, Mr. Delgado” Brian added before cutting off the call.

Xavier was not happy that Jason was in town. Jason was the first son of the Jameson family and he was currently running the business, just like Xavier.

The Delgado and Jameson family have been ruling their cities ever since the cities began to develop. Delgado for Chiachester City and Jameson for Crescent Bay.

“Why is he here unannounced? We have no business deals scheduled” Xavier murmured to himself.

Jameson and the Delgado family had been in business together for a long time. That was how they could stay afloat in their business and dominate their cities.

Xavier picked up Brian at the coffee shop and they drove to the airport.

“I did not know you were driving your convertible today,” Brian said as he entered the car.

“Not a good choice for picking up the rich boy right?” Xavier asked.

“Well we have to make do with what we have” Brian replied.

He knew that Xavier’s question was only so that he could escape having to go pick Jason up from the airport.

“Brian I have a question” Xavier started slowly

“A question for me? I feel honoured” Brian joked.

“Be serious” Xavier said calling him to order.

“I am sorry,” Brian said.

“How can I apologize to a woman?” Xavier asked. “In the right way,” he added before Brian could get any word out. Brian propped his head back and stroked his chin.

“Hmm,” he said as his eyes wandered around.

“Answer the question without any snarky comment” Xavier warned when his eyes caught the expression on the face of Brian.

“I recall you asking me this same question a few days after you got married. It’s been more than a month now and you are still asking the same question” Brian said as he pushed his head to the front.

“And? Maybe if you had explained better in the first place I would not be asking you this again” Xavier answered back.

“Then I guess if I answer it would still be useless”
