Chapter 310
Chapter 310
Hesper thought that when Gabriel offered candy, he would just be sharing a few with his friend, but he
took a pile out and placed it in front of Renfrew.
Renfrew was surprised, as he kept receiving candy and snacks that day.
“Gabe…” Yohanna looked at him, amused. “Candy is your favorite, but it’s not the same for Ren You’ll
get cavities if you have too much.”
“But these are my favorite things.” Gabriel shook his head. “You won’t understand, Mommy.”
They two children went and played, leaving the adults in the living room.
Yohanna spoke up when she saw that Hesper looked uneasy. “Relax. Just consider this as visiting a
friend.”
“Alright…”
Yohanna poured a cup of tea for Hesper. “Even though I’m not really good at taking care of people, the
chores, our food, and watching over Gabriel are all managed by Aunt Chapelain. I just keep the home
tidy because I don’t have a lot to do.”
There was a sudden knock on the door.
“I think Aunt Chapelain is here.”
Yohanna stood up, and Hesper tried to see what the babysitter looked like.
She saw an old woman walking in with a bag. When Yohanna took the bag from her, Hesper felt that
the babysitter looked more like the owner of the house while Yohanna was the helper.
“We have guests?” Eloise looked at Hesper. “Where’s Gabe?”
“He’s playing with his friend. This is our neighbor. She has a child who’s three years younger than
Gabe.” Yohanna sat down, but Hesper continued to look at Eloise curiously.
Even though babysitters weren’t like maids, from what Hesper knew, they wouldn’t usually question
their employers. Furthermore, the woman didn’t look like she was working there and instead looked
more like she was there to be served.
“Gabe is still a child, so he should have less contact with outsiders. What if he gets an infection?”
Eloise looked at Hesper, who was dressed casually. Since she was just working at the office, there was
no reason for her to dress up. She just wanted to be comfortable.
Since Eloise didn’t see any famous brand logos, she mumbled, “Probably doesn’t have a lot of
money.”
Hesper frowned. “My child is very healthy, and I’m sure he doesn’t have a bug. How could you say
that?”
“What did I say?” Eloise wasn’t expecting the young woman to talk back, so she turned to Yohanna.
“Who is this? Such a rude person.
Hesper didn’t want to say anything because she was just a guest. It was fine if the old woman.
looked down on her, but saying that Renfrew wasn’t healthy… She wasn’t going to let that slide.
Yohanna had a soft personality. She knew that Eloise was wrong, but she didn’t know how to stop them
from getting into an argument, so she looked at Hesper then at Eloise. NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
“Don’t drag Hesper into this. You were rude first, so apologize.”
