Harriette’s POV
“Now, let’s play a game, shall we? Rowan asked with a sinister smile on his face. His hold on my chin tightened and I grabbed his hand. I dug my sharp fingernail into the delicate skin between the veins of his hand, just below his palm.
He hissed and stared dangerously at me.
“Tell him no, Harriette, Mika asked. The poor lady was still on the floor, trying to breathe through the pain.

Her eyes snapped at me as though my head was two. She looked at me as though I was insane. No, I wasn’t. If I saw an opportunity to get what I wanted, I wouldn’t let it go.

“What’s he doing?” I asked Mika. Rowan looked as though he just came out of a horror movie. He was scary. intimidating, and totally different from the Rowan that I knew.

Weren’t werewolves supposed to be one with their wolves? Mother said our wolves aren’t supposed to have a mind of their own. Even when we shift to our wolves, it’s supposed to be us.
