“Okay,” she said finally, her voice filled with resignation. “Let’s go.

As they drove to the airport, Anya couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at her insides. But with Daniel by her side, she felt a sense of reassurance and comfort that she hadn’t felt in days.
When they arrived at the airport, Daniel led Anya to his private jet, where they boarded and settled into their seats. As the plane took off into the sky, Anya couldn’t help but feel a sense
of relief wash over her.
For the first time in what felt like forever, she allowed herself to relax, knowing that she was safe and protected in the arms of the man she loved. And as they flew towards New York City, she
couldn’t help but feel a glimmer of hope flicker to life within her heart, knowing that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, hand in hand.
As the private jet descended towards New York City, Anya’s heart fluttered with a mixture of anxiety and relief. The events of the past few days had left her feeling emotionally drained and physically exhausted, but the thought of returning to New York City, to Daniel’s family home, brought her a sense of comfort and solace that she desperately needed.
As they touched down on the tarmac, Anya’s hand found its way into Daniel’s, seeking the reassurance of his touch. He squeezed her hand gently, offering her a small smile of encouragement as they came down from the plane and made their way towards the awaiting
car.
The drive to Daniel’s family home was a blur of winding roads and lush countryside, the scenery passing by in a blur as Anya’s mind raced with a thousand thoughts and emotions. But as they pulled up to the familiar driveway of the sprawling estate, a sense of calm washed over her, like coming home after a long journey.
Daniel led Anya up the steps to the front door, his hand warm and reassuring against her back. He rang the doorbell, and after a few moments, the door swung open to reveal his mother, Wendy, standing in the doorway with a warm smile on her face.
“Daniel, you’re home!” Wendy exclaimed, pushing him aside and enveloping Anya in a tight hug, “Anya dear, come here.”
Anya felt a lump form in her throat as she looked into Mrs. Shaw’s kind eyes; it was as though her mother had asked her for a hug. “Anya,” she managed to choke out, her voice trembling with emotion.
Anya was not sure what had come over her. Maybe she had just missed her mother too much. She wanted to try really hard. She could not process why Wendy, who had never cared about her daughter–in–law, was very caring towards her. She just missed the embrace of a mom.
Wendy took Anya’s hand in hers, her touch gentle and comforting. “There, there, my dear,” she said softly. “You’re safe here.”
As they stepped into the warmth of the family home, this was a place she dreaded. Anya could not believe she cried in Wendy’s arms.
Wendy led Anya to a cozy sitting room off the main hall, where a fire crackled merrily in the fireplace and plush armchairs beckoned invitingly. “Why don’t you make yourself comfortable, dear?” Wendy suggested, gesturing towards one of the armchairs. “I’ll make us some tea.”

Anya sank into the armchair, her heart heavy with the weight of her emotions. She couldn’t hold back the tears any longer, and they spilled down her cheeks in silent rivers as she struggled to contain her grief and sorrow.
Wendy returned a few moments later with a tray of tea and biscuits, her face filled with concern as she noticed Anya’s tears. “Oh, my dear,” she murmured, setting the tray down on the coffee table before kneeling beside Anya’s chair. “What’s wrong? Is there anything I can do to help?”
Anya shook her head; her voice choked with emotion. “It’s just… everything,” she managed to say, her tears flowing freely now. “I feel so lost and alone.”
Wendy reached out and took Anya’s hand in hers, her touch warm and comforting “You’re not alone, dear,” she said softly. “You’re a part of our family now, and we’ll do whatever it takes to help you through this.”
As Anya cried in Wendy’s arms, Daniel stood just outside the door, his heart heavy with sorrow as he listened to her cries. He wanted nothing more than to rush in and comfort her, to hold her in his arms and chase away her fears and doubts. But he knew that she just needed to cry it out right now.
And so he stood there, his mood low and his heart heavy, as Anya’s cries echoed through the halls of his family home. He prayed silently for her pain to ease and for her heart to find peace once more, knowing that he would do whatever it took to make that happen.
It had been a day since Daniel brought Anya back home.
Anya sat cross–legged on her bed, her laptop illuminating the dimly lit room. The screen
flickered with an endless stream of notifications.
“This artist is really funny. Our Autumn got inspired by her work and made her popular, yet she dares look down on small projects.”
“I would take whatever money is given; maybe it is my poor soul talking.”
“It is hard to understand the rich, though.”
“How is she rich? How much is her painting sold for anyway?”
“Even if she is rich, couldn’t she reject them before they arranged the signing?”
“What is going to happen to the animation now? I heard they had already made a lot of preparation to cater to her.”
“Even if she comes back, I am not watching.”
“If I see a speck of her art, I will boycott the animation.”
Each one of these comments was a venomous arrow aimed at her heart. She scrolled through. the onslaught of hate messages and threats, her stomach churning with anxiety. The curse that had been unleashed upon her seemed to permeate every corner of her digital existence from her social media to her websites. It was a relentless storm that showed no signs of ending.
Footsteps echoed down the hallway outside her door, and Anya’s heart skipped a beat. She knew it was Daniel; she did not want to see him either, but he was on her side, right?
He had been her lifeline in this self–imposed exile, the only person she let close by recently apart from Wendy.
The door creaked open, and Daniel stepped into the room, a tray balanced carefully in his hands. His warm brown eyes met Anya’s, filled with concern as he walked closer. “Hey,” he said softly, his voice oddly soothing to her thought–filled mind. “I brought you some food. You need to eat.”

Anya forced a weak smile, her throat tight with unished tears. “I’m not hungry,” she murmured, her gaze fixed on the screen before her.
“Anya,” he called.
“They just keep cursing at me,” she answered.
“Anya,” he moved closer.
“You would think I killed someone from their family,” she continued.
Daniel sighed, setting the tray down on the bedside table. “Anya, please,” he pleaded, his voice tinged with frustration. “You can’t keep doing this to yourself. Stop reading these. They are random people who don’t even know you.”
