Chapter 1192
Joe, get lost. She's your sister!" Winona snapped, throwing Yvonne's identity in his face.
Joe looked at her like she was telling a joke. He was about to say something when his phone rang.
It was his assistant, whom he had stationed at the hospital to keep him updated. Any news about Yvonne, especially when she woke up, was to be relayed to him immediately.
Anything involving Yvonne made Joe tense up. He quickly answered, "What's going on?"
"The Gibson family is here. Mrs. Gibson herself came and said they want to call off the wedding. She also said, considering Yvonne's current state, they won't ask for compensation, but..." The assistant trailed off, making Joe lose his patience. "But what? Spit it out!"
"Well, judging by Mrs. Gibson's tone, it sounds like she intends to make life difficult for the Turner family from now on."Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
Joe did not care about that. He chuckled bitterly and ordered, "Keep watching Yvonne. Let me know the second she wakes up."
After a moment's thought, he added, "I'm heading there now. Are Nash and Nina still at the hospital?"
Before his assistant could answer, Nina took the phone and coldly warned him, "Joe, tell your people to leave. And know this, I won't ever let you near Yvonne again. As far as I'm concerned, we're done. Don't ever try to see her."
In Nina's mind, Joe was the one who had ruined Yvonne. After all, something like that could not have happened if Joe had not agreed to it. He knew Yvonne was getting married that day but still went to see her, proving his intentions were far from innocent. She blamed Joe for everything and had no intention of letting him near Yvonne again.
Joe said nothing, simply hanging up.
Winona laughed. "Looks like Nina's got her head on straight, but too bad Yvonne doesn't."
*Smack.*
Winona was slapped across the face.
Joe sneered, "Say one more bad word about Yvonne, and next time, it won't be just a slap." With that, he stormed out and headed straight for the hospital.

Joe avoided running into Nina and Nash by pulling some strings to wait in the doctor's office for updates. It wasn't until late into the night that Yvonne finally woke up.
Nina, who had been by her bedside, leaned in the moment Yvonne opened her eyes. "Do you want some water? How are you feeling? Any discomfort?"
Yvonne glanced around the room and then asked, "I want to see my mom."
Nina froze taken aback. After a moment, she forced herself to stay calm and poured Yvonne a glass of water. "Here, have some water first. Are you hungry? I can get someone to bring food."
Yvonne gulped down the water, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "Can I have another glass, sis?"
Nina's heart sank, but she nodded
and poured another glass, which Yvonne drank just as quickly.
Afterward, Yvonne handed back the
empty cup and smiled brightly.
The innocence in that smile made Nina's stomach drop.
It was a carefree, childlike smile, completely devoid of sadness.
Dreading the confirmation of her suspicions, Nina hesitated before asking, "What's your name?"
"I'm Little Sister. My brother's little sister."
Yvonne giggled, tilting her head when Nina didn't respond. "Don't you believe me, sis? I really am his little sister."
Nina forced a smile. "I believe you. I do. But do you know why you're in the hospital?"
Yvonne paused, looking confused. "Hospital? This isn't a hospital. I'm just in bed, right?"
That was the final confirmation Nina needed, and she bolted out of the room to find the doctor, trembling.
The assistant had been keeping an eye on the room and immediately reported to Joe when Nina left.
Not long after, Joe entered Yvonne's room. She was twirling her hair absentmindedly. His heart broke at the sight, and he softly called out, "Yvonne." She looked up at him, grinning. "I'm Little Sister."
